Andrew Geller reminds all of us about using the Thank You Gift Submission Form to enter CDs, books, DVDs, etc for your show. PLEASE use this form!

Hi All -

Thanks to everyone who has been proactive in soliciting thank you gifts for our upcoming membership drive (only 2 weeks away).  I'm beginning to receive them, however I don't know who these gifts are for unless you complete the online thank you gift form.  The link for this form is also in your menu of options once you login to the KBOO website.

If you've already solicited a gift but haven't sent in a form, those gifts are not currently reserved for your show and will be available for everyone beginning October 1.  Submit a form today to reserve your gifts.

PLEASE submit a form for each gift as soon as you know you will offer it and have made arrangements to receive it/them.  If you solicit gifts for your show, but do not inform me of your desire to offer the gift/s on your show, then I cannot guarantee that it/they will be ready for you

If you are unclear on how to use the thank you gift form, please respond to this email with you questions and I can walk you through it.

Also ask if you're wondering whether or not previous thank you gifts are still hanging around, because there's been a bunch of turn over recently.  Lastly, if you're a music host and have ideas for some always-available CDs for your genre, please let me or Chris know ASAP.

KBOO has cutback airtime for LABOR RADIO.

If KBOO management continues to effectively stifle the voices of workers in Oregon,
they will be hearing from more and more working Americans, union members, and our affiliates.
Encourage your union, in a presentation at their next executive council meeting, to take action.

Union Activists, organizers, and those concerned with social justice should contact  Arthur Davis
to urge that KBOO restore the full hour to the Labor Collective
.  They can identify themselves as
unhappy listeners and should contact their members and have them do the same.  We have a pool of
270 thousand union members whose voices are being silenced by this arbitrary decision to restrict
working American families from having access to the airwaves.

Here are the various ways to contact Mr. Davis: manager at kboo.org
He can be called at (503) 231-8032 Extension 201
Letters can be sent to:  Attention Arthur Davis

Another way to express your concerns about these attempts to silence working Americans
by cutting the broadcast hours for the KBOO labor radio collective.. please contact our local media with your concerns about community radio access:

At a recent Program Committee Meeting, a board member spoke about the lack transparency and democracy in decision-making processes at the station and urged the committee to stop making changes until a clear goal was identified. After his comments, the board member was told he was not welcome to make suggestions during the meeting and he was uninvited to the KBOO board retreat on Feb 3rd because "this was a private meeting."  The board member informed the committee that closing the meeting is unlawful and not in line with KBOO policy.

What happened to the nation that never tortured?  The nation that wasn't supposed to start wars of choice?   The nation that respected human rights and life?  A nation that from the beginning was against tyranny?  Where have we gone?  How did we let these people take us there? How did we let them fool us?     Molly Ivins  (1944-2007)
